'Freetown to London'

The subject within the portrait’s gaze eludes the viewer, with an air of importance which empowers the archetypal frustrated disenfranchised ethnic male in western society. By using the London Tube map as the canvas for the work, I have explicitly shown the proximity of this anecdotal self-portrait.
The authentic Sierra Leone fabric used in the background pays homage to my heritage; whilst showing the vibrantly vivid colourfulness of this cohesion of cultures as Freetown meets London.
